Yep, that’s an city-wide aetheric propulsion and shielding system which, as it turns out, is utterly bonkers to figure out how to paint.
Bloody painting is three watercolor paintings because I couldn’t figure out how to get the washes and textures for the trees, the towers, and the … moss covered dirigible thing to work together on the larger paper. Thus, paper with much less tooth for the dirigible and the towers, and then photography and image stitching for the background/big sky island and ocean wash, overlaying the other two paintings after.
Seriously, every time I touch steampunk, I go ape.
