Emotions Everywhere

in the distance
the cat is yelling
from beyond the door
they must never pass
explaining at volume
that those were emotional support sneezes
and should not have awakened them
nor been so frighteningly wet and loud
that the running was only to be expected
that the safety door should have been safe
somewhere in the house
lost and alone in tumult
from beyond the door
