a poet’s task, eh –
well
we hear all the time what the job is
which is why
it’s worth taking a wee moment
just a small fragment of a page
to say
whatever the hell the poet wants to write
that’s the bloody job – compliance
is nowhere in the contract
unless
of course
the poet says so
puts it there in their own hand
and gets on with it
