my stickers define my progress
in my passing, instead
a beachhead defense
leaks pink noise
in place of silence
burdock from the pasture
where I had my lie-down
stick-tights from the woods
traversed in the wee hours
when sea burial was unavailable
hounds tongue giving a lick
at the very last
so many stops
so many rests
so much forensic evidence
