Many Are The Hooking Skins

in anonymous safety, then
we wait for those who’d come
bringing those names we’d laid aside
the ones we’d murdered, justified
those parts of self controlled, collected
infections long breached, burned
scavengers bringing flames
saying – come, we call you by sigil
by connection, by complicity
yet we are complicit to nothing
beyond our new selves, here
above this barrow you fire
