my people gathered without my knowledge
but my welcome became instantly a known thing
when I found those signs around reading room
no speaking with headphones on
instantly absorbed into that place of peace and comfort
fine bottle of cider by fireside, an overstuffed chair
library reading room sock-stomping to the beat
in splendid noise-cancelled silence
