that virtue forgiveness, in perfume slaked thirst
neither blood nor terrors spilled, allergic head-leak
in thought perfusion lay hedges, in rosy garlands
what prick upon counterweight, conscience tail
laid under curve, deserving in part of rest
bested at last, lifted sharps in myriad tongues
licking thin firebreaks, in cut upon cut upon cut
rocking socks, then squawking, appendage lit
