Catmother Sea

when cats arrive from the sea
shedding their skins
taking on shoals of stars
eyes shining
we must remember their origin
not that of sea
but of cat and tapestry
well tangled
before we foolishly hide their furs
expecting sealed bliss
for catmother of waves
will speak
sweet foolish things in drowning
were you not warned
for every string you have stolen
we unravel
