A Year Singing
December 4, 2022

one doesn’t condone stalkers
thus a year is spent in preparation
striking that precise balance
twixt bad, good, and attention

until finally, before bed
one lays cookies, milk with cream
scopolamine and lysergic acid
to keep it down, to move it around
to preserve the town of story
old man knows, old man always

knows what’s hit him
but at the balance point
good, bad, indifferent
he needs a leaning
