my finances provide cash back
one penny at a time
celebrating each deal
with a zeal uncompromising

your cake
and eaten by it too

as though I’d join
in commercial self-plundering
ignoring starvation out
for once upon some cents

your stake
and eaten by it too

where we’ve squandered
our rhythm to observance
as though tuppence and tuppence
again were providence
