upon the fall of the second
someone claims that thinking they
they like the most
jewel of the world
most precious

raising it above all other precious things
claiming banner in blood
waving destiny and chipped bone
claiming our own, like us
the better

but of the world, most precious
is that thinking thing, in its own becoming
neither over nor under, but wondered
to ours, like or unlike, but more
its own
