protect yourselves, it’s all in the eyes
this mythology of soul gateways
one true love gazing back at you
this madness of the eyes never lying
it’s always the eyes, and you need
in ways I cannot describe, protection
lest you be mesmerized, those legends
those romantic-writ creatures we spin
in fluff and comfortable abandon
already have tight hold, so many
lost to encrypted memories
