Lightly Roasted

in the liquidation center
the world’s driest cereal is located
fifty cents by the bag
one tenth the cost of new
slightly burned
clearly a production fault
questioning whether burning
might improve the flavor
somewhat further
one conflagration later
smoke alarm screaming
roommates declare intervention
until they taste it
