we’ve seen enough flags now
for a full red dress, pleats and all
should we choose dancing
silent souls claiming willing
before that open ballroom
to split glitter kitten-pumps
on the bones before us
we are here now, music swelling
three waltzes in and sweating
we are here right now, permitting
