downside to being hired by the deep state
whether for wetwork or research dive –
one ends up in death valley
both figuratively and literally

mission protocols all messed up
in a demographic of agony and dust –
saying do this little thing for me
both figuratively and literally

two hundred and eighty-two feet below
signal no longer singing
rebroadcasting mariana
in fragmented iterations
