The Careless Self Recovered

thoughts, in early afternoon surface tension
reflect oily their transitive properties
old faults, older flaws briefly rejuvenated
a favorite novel, a comfort read, shines
syrette in story shivving guilt’s kidneys
leaving behind, in requiem, self-soothing
a thousand faces replacing a thousand faces
a thousand facings refaceting internal planes
factory messengers
