A Winter Ahead

overflowing rain barrels below gutters
make the sound of an endearing plenty
downhill garden relaxing in cloud embrace
settling in for pushing tender earth-breaks
up and through to someday sunshine
pouring nights spinning encouragement
where soon in squash and heirloom packs
a winter’s worth of putting by is coming

Smokethud, but rain should me less thud come morning.
