In Warm Rain

in warm rain, I divest myself of worry
turning over in sleep, in weather, in river
cat upon my head commenting –
dry from shoulders up, even swimming
waking, I change the sheets
turn off the fan that drew the rain
mutter quietly in my yearning
cat flicking toe-beans in annoyance
something, they claim, is amiss
but the sound of the rain is bliss
