as a child, few things could ruin adult conversation
about something uncomfortable, faster than looking someone
right in the eye and saying – I’m twelve – inflectionless

as an adult, still, few things ruin adult conversation
about something uncomfortable, faster than looking someone
right in the eye and saying – I’m twelve – inflectionless

but at two hundred and forty there are a lot more questions
