Torrents In Fashion

as a child, one learns
usually painfully
the mysteries of buckles
of laces, of zippers
of places with buttons
of cases without

devotions to notions
of choices of vices
cravats and good hats
and the cat that sat
amidst it all, decorating
usually painfully

until claiming adulting
both I and the cat
get lost in imagining
they indeed are the best
of the hats and cravats
most stylish bloodletting
