Short Victories And Long

sometimes, the excitement of repairing that mower
means taking it out in January across overgrown lawn
ignoring all potential frozen hummocks until woebegone
the grass cutting spinny thing prangs so hard off a chunk
the word for blade is dropped, along with most of the guts
right there next to victorious patch of Queen Anne’s lace
