O Famed Voice

having gotten into the habit
rote fingers type elide for
almost any other form of –
near sound, near meaning
because, of curse, they
strip away all evidence –
of any other concept
malingering behind ward
having cramped early –
of course, we don’t permit this
eliding to where non-permission
has gouged that great fantasy
clean down stockless bone
