Hope

there’s not just one box, y’see
and hope, being last out each time
tends to stop after all the scary

introduces itself
offers itself in hello
dies pretty common

because after all the scary
people tend to straight up murder
whatever they can catch

introducing themselves
offering themselves
all afire

but hope, well
there's always another box
so hope keeps coming
