commissioned for an installation
at the local animal shelter
we built a cat wizard prophecy machine
which, when one inserted money
and pulled its lever-action paw
would print on low quality paper
the phrase – uncontrollable meowing –
which we were later asked to change
when it proved, repeatedly, true
