Poem, Foley, Kisses That Aren't
The Kiss

it’s not that the foley jockey only has one kiss sound
it’s that they don’t know it’s a kiss, dropping it in
any time they’re not sure what noise that animal makes
by the end of the film, all that editing of nature
clearly driving them mad, kissing background
kissing trees, kissing sky, kissing birds
pitch shifted, recycled, adjusted, repeated
a nature well-loved in utter misrepresentation
