the hardest part of every day this week
is waiting on fermentation
letting flavors come to term
not just stuffing cabbage and onion
directly down neck, pre-culmination

breakfast is the hazard that comes
of biting early anyway
whatever’s next to the quart jar
enticing, enticing, avarice
blending down towards omelet

if we can’t have it
what’s next to it will do
