Heat Exchange
March 22, 2025

we like our little things here
imagined land where things
didn’t go wrong

we like our maple tapping
some days more than a gallon
each tree vamped, vamping

leaves soon, sunny summers
but in boil house at bottom
thermoregulation is a doorway

we step in, heat, step out, chill
turn the radio on, despair
turn the radio off, repair
