we’re here
for the amusement
of our fellow dancers

regalia on parade
music being made
some of us

eyes to roof-lines
catalog apartments
window reflections

note that the escort
in front and behind
brackets ambush

blue lights flashing
fire truck on the corner
blocks road

a short route
to mental recovery
in a land dead set against
