Choices Abound

our bard has barded vigorously
now laying across table, mead
so sweet, so delightful, foams
we clear their airway yet again
unkind words are said
we ask how they’re doing
their eyes shining silver grief
still, they assess the room
plow into the biggest warrior
full on whole-self throw
bounce off
body-check self-analysis complete
we’re all definitely dying here
