Rain Machine

we could have
downpour at will
just turn on the machine

bright yellow warning signs –
read manual before activation –
mostly concerning after reading

manual hanging below
cheerful yellow vinyl
opens to one line
repeated thrice
all caps -

press the big black button –

the garden, it’ll be OK
another week of drought
that’ll be fine

any real manual
would smell less
of wintergreen
