Stoat Throwing

we used to have a stoat skin
accessory for high fashion
that hung about the camp office
innocent of malice
we tossed it to each other
counselors at morning meeting
‘til up and close to ceiling
it met its fan misfortune
not whacked and dropped but spinning
released and shot, while grinning
we found ourselves in happiness
putting it back in
