looking at the groundswell
I write a message
to a dead friend
how their optimism
sometimes does me
a bit of fan service
even if it’s smoke
we planted ‘em a tree
which come spring again
I sit below, typing
watching as sometimes
the chat glitch
claims they too
are also typing
