Wake Motionless
February 12, 2023

the downside to warm sheets
enough sleep on vacation under a cat
setting a dozen projects on hold

is that the rage one has set aside
maybe doesn’t bubble up in frothing madness
but warms, at least, decency’s repose

choral descant in petaled offering
tonal in white lily-strung crowns and necklaces
of what people say people can’t
