Stopgap Treasures

that ain’t the right of it
not even slight
nobody’s ready
nobody’s steady
nobody’s home

just the lights on
the fight gone
the flight strong
no rights to it, none
ain’t nobody that strong

so you turn back around
don’t investigate, retreat
and that’s how the story
still story, releases
