A Warm And Subtle Grip

video chat means the scaredy cat
an actual cat of actual fear
can join in passive appreciation
until named by person on application
whereupon in horror pure
levitation floof occurs
from flat and humming there-not-there
to present-in-there spiked despair
now hiding, scaredy cat compares
all screens, reflections, even dreams
to that moment of electric apprehension
when the warm dead thing spoke names
